This is EXACTLY how I feel most of the time!

apriltwo80:

the more i think about it, the more i want to pack up 1/4 of what we own and move to the middle of nowhere. live in a tiny little shack. quit the internet and tv and video games. read more books, sew more quilts, write more, cook more. if i could figure out a way to not need to see another human being again, i think i would. if i could find a way to talk only to the cats and the boyfriend, i would.

but, life isn’t so perfect. reality hits hard. & tonight wasn’t a very good night..

We went to the pumpkin patch at Rasmussen Farms in Hood River this weekend. It was gorgeous. Sunny skies, bright orange pumpkins, and mountains in the background, plus  a bunch of little kids dressed in fall-colored clothes and pumpkin-inspired beanies. Adorable. There was pumpkin bowling, apple cider, popcorn, a pumpkin patch, and a “Where’s Waldo?” Corn Maze.   Then we went and played  in the downtown area  finishing our day with yummy Sweet Potato Fries at Horsefeathers Brew Pub, a two-story pubhouse with a fireplace and views overlooking the Columbia River.  What a lovely life!
